OCTOBER
28 – Word received of the death of Calvin Cotton, former Grundy county man, at his home at Clare, Michigan, aged 86.
29 – Mrs. Hanna Cash dies in Mazon, aged 89. Girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Perry Schick.
30 – Elijah George and family called to Sharon, PA, by the death of Mrs. Harry Spelling, a daughter and sister.
31 – Delos Pope, Braceville boy 21 years old, killed while at work at the E.J. & E round house in Joliet. Son born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Haugas.
NOVEMBER
1 – James Conroy dies at his home near Channahon aged 60. The Bowker family has a narrow escape when a wheel on their car comes off and the car hits a concrete bridge.
2 – Mrs. Frank Baker dies, aged 54. Girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Manning.
3 – Word is received of the death of Mrs. Henry Burrell, aged 68, at Portland, Oregon, a former Morris woman.
4 – Word is received of the death of Harry McDowell, at Hollywood, Calif., a former Morris merchant.
5 – Mrs. Thomas Goode dies, aged 64.
6 – A. F. Mallory reaches his 80th birthday. Mrs. Britt moves her Old Peoples’ Home to the former L.S. Hoge home on Washington street.
8 – Mrs. Thomas Ritchie, Sr., former Coal City woman, dies in Joliet. Miss Jean Chicester and John Bolen, marry.
8 – Mrs. H. S. Hume of Wauponsee township, gives mercury tablet to her 6 year old son and takes the poison herself.
16 – Louis Reed a Minooka boy for many years, dies at Silvis. Miss Mary Gable marries Herman Tietke, of Chicago. A baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Phillips of Good Lake township. Funeral of George Kerr held at Coal City.
17 – Roy Enger sells his milk business to Herbert LePla. Mrs. Lovina Gordon of Wauponsee township, and Charles Gordon, marry. Miss Laura Cockram and Elmer Walker marry.
18 – Mrs. Christine Saunders of Coal City, dies ages 74. Reverend Ramsey, pastor at Coal City for 5 years, resigns.
19 – Body of Essie Grant-Hull brought to Morris from DeSota, Mo, for burial. Miss Agnes Briscoe and Thomas McEvilly of Minooka, marry. Miss Mable Baker and Warren Johnson, of Highland township, marry.
20 – Miss Ora Frances Strong, of Mazon, marries Jesse Davies, of Topeka, Kansas. Son born to Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Erickson, of Nettle Creek. Mrs. Ida Geidreich, of Milwaukee and Charles Weickelt, marry. Mathew Rollman dies, aged 84.
21 – Son is born to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Genzel, of Norman township.
22 – Wier Peterson dies, aged 91. Miss Tillie Estergreen, of Minooka, dies in a Joliet hospital.
23 – Mrs. Andrew Sharp, former Coal City woman, dies in Joliet. Girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Lief Huseby. Son born to Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Ferguson.
24 – Miss Mary Leach, former resident of Lisbon and Morris, dies in Joliet, age 70. Michael Carney, former Morris man, died in Chicago, aged 65. Miss Catherine Brown and George Tattersall, of Seneca, marry.
25 – Miss Sadie Ostrem dies, aged 26. Son born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Maland.
26 – Theodore Adams marries Miss Freda Weinecke, of Sycamore. Son born to Mr. and Mrs. Will Sharp, of Aux Sable township. Miss Nellie Calvin and Paul Fancher, of Aux Sable township, marry.
