Mrs. C. M. Goold and John Crozier start for Kansas Wednesday, 10th, to visit a brother living there.
Misses Cora Barber, Stella and Ella Kinley, and Mr. Willie Pierce are attending the “Morris Normal school”.
There was a lively time at Pierce’s race track on Saturday afternoon. A foot-race between Loss Hanson and Roen Thompson was one of the chief attractions.
Miss Jennie Stone, of Fairbury, was the guest of the Misses Wright the past week.
Rev. J. S. Maxwell delivered a discourse at the Baptist church Sunday forenoon.
Sam Ward was seriously hurt by a horse last week. On Tuesday he was improving.
Mrs. Jennie Allen is visiting at Wm. Peterson’s.
Mrs. Bennage returned from Indiana last week.
Ben Zens, of Morris, done our town Thursday of last week.
W.M. Brayton has finished the sheds at the M.E. Church. There are twelve stalls, and they are substantially made.
Geo Finch is making the addition of a kitchen to his residence.
A young man by the name of Edward Lott, who is blind, has procured a broom machine and the necessary materials for making brooms and will commence their manufacture immediately. He learned his trade at the Jacksonville asylum for the blind.
Mrs. H. K. Avery went to Kansas Wednesday, to visit her father and sisters who live in that State.
Married. At the residence of the bride’s parents, on Monday evening, September 8th, by Rev. L. Springer, Mr. Herbert R. Woodward to Miss Anna S. Cockram.
