Hoenshell Home
The Hoenshell home was located on a 145 acre farm approximately 3 1/2 miles from Morris near the Illinois & Michigan Canal in 1917. The Illinois River flooded four years in a row and Sam Hoenshell lost the farm. Robert C. Hoenshell, son of Samuel & Jessie Johnson Hoenshell, was born in this house.

My grandmother was Bertha Baldwin Hoenshell. She married Ross Hoenshell. They had three grandchildren. They had 1 daughter Betty Lee Hoenshell Younger. Me, Cynthia Lee Younger. My full sister Lynda Lee Younger Pennington. And my half sister Lisa Lee Younger Mello.
I was born to Marion David and Bertha Lucy [Jull] Hoenshell near Seattle WA. Marion was from the Kansas area and his father was Charles and Mother Luella Hoenshell. He had brothers-Marlin and Melvin Hoenshell. I have very little Hoenshell and would glady share what I do have. All three-Marlin, Marion, and Melvin are deceased now. Also my two sisters, MaryAnn who was a year older and Joyce who was a year younger than me [I ws born in 1942.] Our Mother and Marion divorced in about 1950 and we were lated adopted by her second husband, Orville Helland. We only saw him twice between that 1950 time and his death in 1980 in Denver, Colorado. He is buried at Logan National Cemetery, near Denver, Colorado. Sadly he was a chronic, very violent alcoholic, and was drug addicted [his brothers told me that he only briefly was ever sober]. We , his bio-daughters]had wonderful parents that loved us very much but I’d like to know more history.
